Bass ? In Chowan Co., N.C. Sept. 27th, 1886, God in his all wise providence saw fit to call one of his lambs home. He sent his ministering angel to Rosa Bass, daughter of Horatio and Bettie Bass, aged 18 years and eleven months. He laid his icy fingers upon her form and Rosa is no more. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church at Rocky Hock, faithful daughter, a kind and loving sisters. None knew her but to love her. Her sickness lasted for only a few days, when she yielded to omnipotence and went to rest. She leaves a kind mother, two sisters and a brother to mourn her loss, yet they do not mourn as those who have no hope. Her?s was a meek, gentle and Christian spirit that endeared her to so many. Ah! how we will miss her in our church and Sunday school. No more will we hear her sing on earth; she has left us and joined the heavenly choir. Earth has lost one of its jewels but Heaven is richer. A Friend.
