Homegoing service for Deacon Eddie B. Bass,Sr. age 89 of Newnan will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009, 1:00 P.M. from the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Moreland, Georgia with remains placed instate at 11:30 A.M. The Reverend Eddie Storey, pastor officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M.
Deacon Eddie B. Bass, Sr. was born May 10, 1923 to the late Mr. Charlie and Pelly Bass in Troup County, Georgia. He was the youngest of six children. Surrounded by his loving family Eddie departed from us to return to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Army from September 4, 1942 ? January 9, 1946. During his service was the time of World War II. He was given the opportunity to travel the world and see the seven seas. He always told the story of the Dead Sea and how the waters were so still. There was nothing in site for miles and miles but fog and still waters. He explained it as one of the scariest times of his life.
He will always be cherished and remembered as an amazing man of God, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Always portraying his comical sense of humor to his loved ones, everyone could not help but to laugh and love the stories he?d tell. A well-known musician, he loved to sit at the kitchen table with family playing his harmonica and singing hymnals. He is remembered as always being a hard worker and forward thinker. He loved his sister and brother-in-laws dearly. They always said he was more of a brother than a brother-in-law. Most of all he was a loving, kind, and humble man, who would give his last to a friend in need.
On February 7, 1946 he married the love of his life, Velma Warner. To this union eight children were born to which seven survived. They joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Moreland, Georgia where Eddie was a loyal and devoted deacon for over 35 years. Many knew him as Mr. Bass, the school bus driver, but anyone could never forget his love for farming and cattle. He loved to hop in his truck and ride down to the pasture with his cows, calling ?Come On Yall!? He loved traveling; so if you ever looked up you would see his truck going across your yard, driving through any city, pulling up at the bread house, Waffle House, or Golden Corral.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Mrs. Velma Bass; seven children: Robert L. (Patricia) Bass, Eddie B. Bass Jr., Shirley (James) Pitman, John W. Bass, Oliver (Vivian) Bass, Pauline (Timothy) Wood, and Stanley (Carla) Bass; sixteen grandchildren: Shoshanna, Tenedrian, Robert Jr., Lee, Christy, Sherry, Sheryl, Angel, Jasmine, Demetrius, Deidre, Aerial, Cassidy, Kayla, Kiersten, Candace; nine great grandchildren: Kenntaria, Denzel, June, JJ, Derrick, Yaukin, Dylan, Brooklynn, and Kaiden; one sister: Ella Pearl Beasley; and a host of nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and friends.

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Oliver Bass, 67 of Newnan, Georgia on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at his residence.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at St. Smyrna Baptist Church, Reverend Tamarkus Cook, pastor, Reverend Stafford E. Dudley, eulogist. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Oliver Bass, affectionately known to many as ?T-Bay? was the fifth child born to Eddie B. Bass, Sr. and Velma Bass on May 15, 1952 in Turin, Georgia. On Sunday, September 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, Oliver transitioned from his earthly vessel to his heavenly home.
Oliver was a student of Coweta County School System. He graduated from East Coweta High School, class of 1972. Upon graduation, he embarked on a career in construction and concrete and began a family with his wife, Vivian D. Bass, affectionately known as Neise. To this union were birthed four children; Cedric, Demetrius, Deidre and Aerial Bass.
T-Bay was the epitome of a family man. He was a man who loved not only with his words, but with his actions. He enjoyed most spending time outdoors working on his prized automobiles, fishing with family around the lake and later telling stories while eating the catch of the day. He was truly our jack of ALL trades; therefore, making him the go to person for everything and everyone. There was nothing he could not accomplish once he set his mind to it. He was a man of great faith and loved to frequently engage in singing hymnals. He showed himself friendly, he never met a stranger and seldom could he go anywhere where no one knew him. He always greeted people with a smile and a firm hand shake.
He ran on to see what the end would be. He was preceded in death by his son, Cedric Raymond Bass and father, Eddie B. Bass, Sr.
He leaves behind to cherish many loving memories, his mother, Mrs. Velma Bass; his wife of 33 years, Mrs. Vivian D. Bass (Neise); three children, Demetrius Bass, Deidre Bass, and Aerial Bass; two grandchildren, Dylan Bass and Aiden Smith; six siblings, Deacon Robert L. (Patricia) Bass, Deacon Eddie Bass, Jr., Mr. John Bass, Mrs. Shirley (James) Pitman, Ms. Pauline Woods, Mr. Stanley (Carla) Bass; Mother-in-love, Mrs. Harriet Bailey; Sister-in-love, Mrs. Teresa Redwine (MacDonald); Brother-in-love, Mr. Anthony (Stan) Herring ---and a host of special aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
