Jerry T. Butz, age 69, of Beacon Falls, beloved husband of the late Carol Lynn Slosar Butz, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on August 19, 1946, he was a son of the late George and Emma Bassett Butz and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Mr. Butz served in the United States Army Reserves and went on to become a facility manager and unit administrator for the Federal Government in the Department of Defense and a night manager at the Holiday Inn in New Haven for many years. Jerry was a volunteer fireman with the Nichols Fire Department in Trumbull and found great enjoyment in camping with his family and friends. Survivors include his children, Melissa Krebbs, her husband Stephen and children Ryan and Stephanie of Beacon Falls, Tammy Butz-Stevens, her fiancé Franklin Cash and children Jenny, Miles, Matthew and Alysha of Bridgeport, Jerry C. Butz, his wife Dawn and daughter Lindsay of Terryville, brothers, a sister and in-laws, George W. Butz and wife Helen, Ronald Butz and wife Martha, Judy Bierwirth and her late husband Donald, John R. Butz and wife Robin, Barbara Butz and Debbie Aubin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, David C. Butz. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
