Curtis E. Bassett
Curtis E. Bassett, 74, central Kansas City, died April 19, 1994, at Truman Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's AME Zion Church, Kansas City; graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Leavonworth National Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Mr. Bassett was born in Monticello, Ark., and lived in this area most of his life. He was a security guard for Children's Mercy Hospital, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, janice L. Cook and Mary A. Andrews of Kansas City; two brothers, James L. Bassett, Detroit, and Ezra M. Bassett, Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Agens Ricker, Battle Creek, Mich., and Louise Colbert and Ahra Greene of Kansas City; and three grandchildren.
