Popular Young Couple Married Thanksgiving Day
A pretty home wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Nicholas solemnized the marriage of their daughter, Elnora, to Arthur H. Bass of Lincoln, Neb., Thanksgiving evening, November 24, 1927, at 6 o?clock. Rev. Ray Borgaard of Elwood, former schoolmate of the bride, officiated in the presence of the immediate families.
Just preceding the bridal ceremony Miss Elaine Nicholas sang, ?I Love You Truly,? accompanied on the piano by Miss Ruth Barkmeier, who also played very softly Lohengrin?s wedding march.
The bride wore a graceful gown of white satin back crepe and carried shower bouquet of pink roses. The groom was attended by his brother, May Bass, Jr. of York.
Mrs. Bass is an unusually charming and talented young lady, and an accomplished musician. She will receive her degree at the end of the school year at Cotner university, where she is taking her fourth year?s work.
The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Bass of York, who were former residents of Central City. He is a graduate of the Central City high school and serves as secretary for Atty. J.C. Martin and other judges of the supreme court commission. He is also attending the state university night school.
The home is beautifully decorated with pink and white roses, palms and pom pom. Immediately following the wedding ceremony a two-course dinner was served.
A reception was held Sunday, November 27 at the home of the groom?s father and mother in York, where a two-course dinner was served to about 20 relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Bass will make their home at 6519 Leighten Ave., Lincoln, Neb.
