Miss Bliss Griffin, Mr. Bass United in Informal Roxboro Rites
Miss Bliss Griffin of Durham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Griffin of Spring Hope, became the bride of William Council Bass, son of Mrs. William Council Bass Sr. and the late Mr. Bass, also of this city, in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the home of MR. and Mrs. Wallace Woods of Roxboro. The informal rites were solemnized at 6:45 p.m.
The bride is a graduate of Watts Hospital School of Nursing and did post-graduate study in nursing education at Duke University and the University of Virginia. She is now on the faculty at the Watts School of Nursing.
Mr. Bass attended Durham City Schools and served with the 493rd Bomber Group attached to the Eighth Air Force. He flew 35 missions in Europe as a tail gunner on a B-17 and is a member of the Caterpillar Club. He is now associated with Lance, Inc., in Roxboro, where the couple now make their home.
