Dorothy Victoria Farris Bass, 88, formerly of Florien, passed away on November 14, 2015 in Odessa, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Many, LA. Burial will follow in the Florien Cemetery in Florien, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 beginning at 5:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, LA.
Dorothy was born in Alco, Louisiana on May 5, 1927, to the late John Albert and Carrie Magnolia Holloway Farris.
Survivors include: brother Albert Farris and wife Garnet and sister Carolyn Gay Marsh. Her children: Brenda Weierholt and husband, Ivar, of Bremerton, Washington; John Bass and wife, Rachel, of Fort Collins, Colorado; Nita Evans and husband, Jim, of Midland, Texas, and Annette Torrey and husband, Les, of North Scituate, Rhode Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel M. Bass Jr.; son, Stephen Bass, and grandson, Kristen Weierholt; brother, Jimmie Farris; sisters, Vada Busek, and Wordnia McDonnold.
She leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren that she adored.
