Bass, Jr. officiating. Graveside services and burial were held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Guedry Cemetery, Batson under the direction of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home of Bay City. Bass died at the Sweeny Community Hospital, Sweeny, Monday, July 10. A native and former resident of Batson, he had lived in Sweeny for a number of years, was a retired employee of the J.S. Abercrombie Company, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and of the Old Ocean Lodge No. 1284, A.F. and A.M. Survivors include two daughter Mrs. Joyce Long of Sweeny, and Mrs. Gwen Underwood of Midland; one brother, Dan M. Bass of Louisiana; three sisters, Mrs. Ervie Stevens of Kentucky, Mrs. Mary Harris of California, and Mrs. Etta Barton of Utah; 10 grandchildren and 13 great=-grandchildren.
