State of Illinois Johnson County County Court of Johnson to County To January L Term A.D. 1865 To the Honorable the Judge of the County Court of Johnson County The Petition of John C. Clymen of the said County of Johnson administrator of the goods chattels & effects of Lemuel Bass late of said County Deceased respectfully represents : That your Petitioner was on the first day of April A D 1864 duly appointed by the County Court of Johnson - County aforesaid administrator of the goods & chattles rights & credits of Samuel Bass deceased as will appear by his letters of administration on the hearing of this Petition And --- your Petitioner further represents unto you for that the claims allowed against & the liabilities of the said Estate amount he the sum of 8 as will appear by Exhibits herewith filed and that there is a deficiency of personal property to pay the debts of the said deceased all of which will appear reference being had to the records & papers on file in this Court And your Petitioner further represents that the deceased at the time of hisdeath was seized in fee simple of the following described Real Estate to wit : The North half North East ( N ½ N E qr Section eight ( See & ) seventy nine acres ( 79 -- ) Township thirteen ( 13 ) Rangfour ( R-4 ) East & the North West of the South West section nine N W N W --- Sec . 9 - 13 R 4 E ) Township thirteen Range four East forty acres containing in all one hundred & nineteen acres ( 19 ) That the said Real Estate is reasonably month the sum of $ 6000 And your Petitioner further represents that the said Samuel Bass died leaving him surviving Susan Boss his widow & the following named children & grand children as his heirs at Law Daniel Bap Starlin Bass Mahala J. Hall late Bass & husband John M. Hall Nancy A. William late Bass Thomas Williams husband of Mary - A. Jackson Bass Matilda Duty late Bass John Duty husband of Matilda George W. Bass & James Bass grand sons of said Deed And that the said James Bass is common under the age of twenty one years - - Wherefore in considerat of the premises your Petitioner prays the aid of this Hon Court in the premises that commissioners be appointed to set off said Widows Dower in said Real Estate & that --- John Petitioner may have leave tosell the said Real Estate or so much --- thereof as may be necessary to pay the of the Intestate with ment debts of other & consisted that a to appair and pray & c the said Intestate & for such further relief as may be ant with Equity in the premises & - guardian ad Litem be - - ted for the said minor heir --- your Petitioner will ever John C.
