James R. Liles Sr.
CHESAPEAKE ? James Roy Liles Sr., 65, of Route 4 died Tuesday in his home.
A native of Stockbridge, Ga., he was a son of James A. and Mrs. Anna Andrews Liles and the husband of Mrs. Carrie Bass Liles.
He lived here 26 years and was retired Norfolk City Prison Farm guard. he was a Presbyterian.
Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. William E. Yeager of Valley Station, Ky., Mrs. Charles Adams of Decatur, Ga., Mrs. Margaret Griswell of Chamblee, Ga., and Mrs. Thelma Grant of Key West, Fla.; two sons, William D. Liles of Chesapeake and James R. Liles Jr. of Chamblee; a sister, Mrs. Lillie L. Carter of Atlanta; two brothers, Thomas J. Liles and Paul L. Lies of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Snellings Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Harold Moreland and the Rev. Francis J. Dalton. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery.
