Bass
Wilma Center Bass transitioned to her new life on January 7, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, her beloved husband Col Feris A Bass and her children. As she was affectionately known, MaMaw leaves many beautiful memories in the hearts of her children, William M Center III, wife Deborah Carr Center, Cynthia Center Beard, grandchildren Christopher Beard, Massie Center and his wife Claire Bryant Center, Nikki Center, RJ Center and wife Monica Vollmer Center. Stepchildren Tony Bass, wife Margaret Hackney and Laura Bass. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren Benjamin Center and McKenzie Center, and her very special friend Carlos Tapia. Wilma was born in Alpena Arkansas on May 31, 1914. She would marry the father of their children, William M Center, MD in Wood River, Illinois in June of 1936. They lived happily in San Antonio Texas until his death in April 1981. She is also preceded in death by her son James W Center. Wilma found another 25 years of happiness again with Col Feris A Bass. She will be remembered as an excellent cook, a master in design, an accomplished artist and an avid golfer. She also traveled extensively throughout the world. Private memorial service pending.
