Rita Harrison Bass, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on Monday, August 19, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Mryl Harrison and Marlene Stamps Harrison Taylor. Rita was a vibrant and joyful woman who embodied a profound love for life that resonated deeply with everyone fortunate enough to know her. A great friend to many, Rita possessed a loyalty that was unwavering. She was the type of person who would go out of her way to support those she cared about, always ready if someone needed her. Rita was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, where she engaged in countless fun moments, sharing stories and laughter that will forever be cherished. Rita was a successful beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, showcasing her love of skin care and glamor. Her success led her to become a director, winning a pink Cadillac. Her fiercely independent spirit shone through in every challenge she encountered, as she approached each moment with a courage that inspired those around her. Rita's strong faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing her with the strength to overcome any troubles she faced. While Rita may have left this world, the impact of her life will be felt for years to come.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Tangee Daugereaux; her pride and joy, granddaughter, Sadie Daugereaux; best friend who she loved like a sister, Rhonda Barbier; godson, Blair Barbier, his wife Lacie, their children, Cate, Allie and Leah; step daughter Jennifer Bass Levitts (Chris), and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Herbert Bass (Herb); son-in-law, Dennis Daugereaux; sister, Jane Goodson; brother, Darrell Harrison; and close friend, Jimmy Barbier.
To honor Rita?s wishes, there will be a private memorial service to celebrate her life.
