Deborah Carol Zanfagna, Robert Woods Bass Jr.
MCLEAN, Va. ? Deborah Carol Zanfagna and Robert Woods Bass Jr. were united in marriage during a ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, oct. 6, in Lewinsville Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Gary Pinder and the Rev. Tad Wicker officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Zanfagna Jr. of Falls Church, Va., and the granddaughter of Mrs. William Parlette of Lansdale, Pa., the late Mr. Parlette, Mrs. Phillip Zanfagna of Methuen, Mass., and the late Mr. Zanfagna.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Woods Bass, 4110 S. Lookout St, and the grandson of Mrs. Logan Alexander of Tulsa, Okla, the late Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Walter R. Bass of Little Rock, and the late Mr. Bass.
Bouquets of rubrum lilies, white lilies, white roses, and blue delphiniums decorated the church. Handbells accompanied the processional and recessional music. Nuptial music included Bach?s ?Jesu ? Joy of man?s Desiring? and Pachelbel?s ?Canon in D.?
Escorted by her father, the bride chose a gown of raw silk shantung designed by Annie Heckler of Atlanta. A Sabrina neckline and drop V in the back accented the bodice, covered with hand-pearled French lace. The chapel-length train was trimmed withpearled lace.
Her veil of two lengths was secured with a ring of raw silk flowers and pearls She carried a cascading bouquet of gardenias, bridal white and pink roses, stephanotis, and blue iris.
Susan Zanetti of Williamsburg, Va., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Linda bender of Falls Church; Jennifer Dear and Pamelia Krulitz, both of Arlington, Va.; Laura Fekishazy of Centreville, Va.; and Amy Iles of Ithaca, N.Y.
They wore blouses and narrow tea-length skirts of royal blue shantung taffeta. They carried cascading bouquets of orchids, stephanotis, blue delphinium, and pink roses.
Mr. Bass was his son?s best man. Groomsmen were Logan and Walker Bass of Little Rock, brothers of the bridegroom; George Newbern of Las Angeles; Gary Zanfagna of New Orleans, brother of the bride; and Lars Okeson of Annandale, Va.
A reception was held at the Tower Club, Tysons Corner, Va., where decorations included large airy bouquets of Rubrum lilies, white lilies, white roses and blue delphiniums. Arrangements of pink roses decorated guest tables. A classical woodwind quartet entertained. Sarah Zanfagna, cousin of the bride, assisting at the serving table.
The bride graduated with a bachelor science degree in computer science from the College of William and Mary, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is a senior consultant at Price Waterhouse.
The bridegroom received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the College of William and Mary, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He is an account executive with Dean Witter Reynolds Inc.
Following a trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
