East Berlin RD 2 Seaman Advanced
East Berlin ? Ronald P. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cline Bassett, East Berlin RD 2, has been advanced to the rating of aviation structural mechanic, third class, at Mustin Field Naval Air station, Philadelphia, where he is stationed.
Bassett enlisted in the Navy in July, 1947, and received his recruit training at Great Lakes, Ill.

R. Paul Bassett
R. Paul Bassett, 74, of Munford, retired aviation mechanic and chief petty officer from the Navy after 22 years and former employee of Knapp Shoe Co., died Monday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Georgian Hills Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher, with burial in Northridge/Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Northridge/Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington has charge. He was a member of Gideons International. Mr. Bassett. the husband of Phyllis Basset for 51 years, also leaves a daughter, Deborah Smityh of Munford; a sister, Helen Trimmer of Silver Spring, Md., two brothers, Clair Bassett of Somerset, Pa., and Clarence Bassett of Sebring, Fla., and two grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Georgian Hills Baptist Church, Gideons International or the American Cancer Society.
