Clarence Theodore Martin
MARTIN Mr. Clarence Theodore Martin, 84, of St. Marks Road, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Guilford County on September 25, 1922, to the late Posey and Daisy Burgess Martin. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on the USS Alabama during WWII. He retired from Litton Industries with 30 years of service. Mr. Martin was a member of Agape Faith Church in Clemmons. He loved to fish and target shoot and he will be remembered as making people happy. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by seven siblings. Surviving him are his wife, Sylvia Bass Martin; a nephew that was like a son to him, Eric S. Livingston (Lori) and their daughter, Adrienne; three step-children, Donna Nelson (Rick), David Golding (Paige) and Suellen Hosino (Mike); four step-grandsons; two brothers, Charles Martin and wife Sylvia and Lee Martin; and a sister, Shirley M. Shaw and husband Mike. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Agape Faith Church, with Pastor J.B. Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
