- The records of the children are from a family Bible, a copy of which can be found at the State Archives in Richmond, Virginia. The Bible was in possession of Mrs. Donald Kilgore of Dallas, Texas, when filmed by the State Archives in Richmond. She was a granddaughter of Benjamin Harris and Mary B. Bassett.
Lewis Washington Bassett willed his estate to his sister, Eleanor Hunter Bassett Musse.

Deaths and Funeral Notices
Bassett - Lewis Washington, aged 76, passed away at a local sanitarium Monday. Residence 505 West Tenth. Survived by four sisters, Mrs. E.B. Muse, Dallas; Mrs. Howard May, Mrs. Hope McCalla, both of Houston; Mrs John Watson, Cameron. Body will be sent to Brenham for services and interment Wednesday by Sparkman-Holtz-Grand. Family requests no flowers.
