Floyd A. Bassett
Mr. Floyd A. Bassett 11216 E. Shore Dr., Crooked Lake, Delton - Age 83, passed away Saturday evening at the Barry County Medical Care Facility where he had been a patient for the past four and half years. Mr. Bassett was born March 11, 1892 in Pickford, Michigan, the son of William and Florence Wilson Bassett. He was formerly of Gary, Indiana and owned and operated the Bassett Resort at Crooked Lake from 1947 to 1959 when he was forced to retire due to ill health. He was married to Tressa Smith in Sault Ste. Marie, December 27, 1916. Surviving besides the wife is one son, Dean Bassett of Crooked Lake Delton, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Foster, Pontiac. Friends are being received at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton, where services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment, Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo.
