Nelda M. Bassett (1927 ? 2018)
Collins, Miss. ? Nelda M. Bassett, 90, passed away March 6, 2018.
Nelda was born on November 14, 1927 in Fort Collins, Colo. She married Wilber Bassett on April 22, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; two daughters, Sandra Jackson and Dianna Bassett; grandson, Mike Bassett; parents, Benjamin and Myrtle Emery; two sisters, Opal Pickering and Katherine Mayes and two brothers, Beryl and Harley Emery.
Survivors include sons, Dale (Jenny) Bassett of Richmond, Joe (Norie) Bassett of Jacksonville, Fla. and Bob (Angelina) Basset of Cameron; daughters, Donna Thurman of Altamont, April (Buct) Bridges of Sibley; son-in-law, Steve Thurman of Collins; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Noon on March 13 at New Salem Funeral Home in Independence with services to follow at 1 p.m.
