Redden Bass
Redden Asfurd Bass, 55, of 922 Carolina St. was found dead during a hunting trip Saturday in Hillsborough.
He died of a heart attack, according to medical examiners. His Body was discovered in a mobile home on Oakdale Drive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Howerton-Bryan Funeral Home. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Annex B.
Pallbearers were Stacy Morrison, John Smith, Joel Jackson, Jerry Carroll, Elmore Gaydau and Lewis Nichols.
A native of Sampson County, he moved to Durham at an early age. He was employed by the Claude May Paint Co. until his retirement last year because of poor health. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Dial bass; a daughter, Mrs. Judy B. Pennington of Raleigh; two sons, Timmie A. Bass and Jimmie Bass of the home; seven sisters, Mrs. Lena Mincey, Mrs. Margie Poe, Mrs. Claudia McFarland, Mrs. Louvenia Smith and Mrs. Mavis Braswell of Durham, Mrs. Iona Perry of Charlotte and Mrs. Faye Maynor of Roanoke, Va.
