Daisy Barefoot Bass
DUNN ? Mrs. Daisy Barefoot Bass, 92, died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Windsor Point Continuing Care Retirement Community.
She was born in Sampson County on May 12, 1931, to the late J. Lovitte and Esther McLamb Barefoot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bass. The last of 10 children, she was also predeceased by brothers Howard Barefoot, James U. Barefoot, Donald Barefoot, Omax Barefoot and J. Lovitte Barefoot Jr., as well as sisters, Ometa B. Williams, Ruby B. Thornton, Georgia B. Baker and Ima Jean B. Tart.
Howard and Daisy owned and operated Bass Radio and TV, where they worked side-by-side for more than 50 years. Daisy was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt who cherished her Barefoot and Bass families dearly. After Howard's passing, Daisy lived a quiet life caring for her home and enjoying daily walks around the pond that they both loved. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunn, where she faithfully attended until she was no longer able due to health concerns.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Len Keever officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Lois Barefoot and Hilda Barefoot of Dunn, and brother-in-law, Carl G. Bass of Clinton, as well as many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m.
