John B. Bass
Fayetteville - John B. Bass, 79, died Wednesday in a Hope Mills Hospital. A resident of Route 7, he was born in Sampson County, a son of the late Alvin B. Bass and Penny Jackson Bass. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nancy B. Bass; seven daughters, Mrs. Mac Lockamy of Salemburg, Mrs. Frank Daughtry of Clinton, Mrs. Carl Bass of Durham, Mrs. Troy D. Carter, Mrs. Lillian Dunham, Mrs. Bean H. Adair, and Mrs. James L. Hall of Fayetteville; three sons, John A. Bass of Durham, Kirby B. and Robert L. Bass, both of Fayetteville; 45 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the home on Route 7. The Reverend J.H. Daniel will officiate, assisted by The Reverend Harvey B. Turlington and The Reverend J.F. Robinson. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
