Mrs. Laura B. Core
DUNN ? Mrs. Laura B. Core, 87, of Dunn, died Tuesday morning at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. P.W. Elmore. Mrs. Core was one of Dunn?s oldest citizens and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle, she was active in church and community affairs until declining health prevented. She was the daughter of William and Colon Bass and the widow of Richard Henry Core. Surviving are one grandson, W.A. (Pete) Core of Elizabeth City; four granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 from Cromartie Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. B.T. Underwood, pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle, assisted by Dr. George Cuthren, pastor of Hood Memorial Christian Church.
