Louise Scott Bass
BASS Louise Scott died on June 10 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife for 66 years of George W. Bass. Louise was born on April 6, 1906 in Oklahoma City to Luna Vickers and Robert M. Scott. Both her father and grandfather made the run in 1889. She attended Mills College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She was active in many civic and cultural activities. She served as President, Vice President, and Drive Chairman of the Oklahoma Art Center Association. She was involved in several early Junior League projects including the development of the Community Workshop. She was a former member of the Beaux Arts Society, the Women's Committee of the Oklahoma Symphony, the OCU Library Society, the Oklahoma Heritage Association, the Women's Guild of the Oklahoma Ballet Society, the English Speaking Union, L'Alliance Franciase of Oklahoma City, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae, and the Oklahoma City Planned Parenthood Association. Louise was a very fine artist who continued to develop her natural talents in her later years. Her love for color and wonderful imagination produced many works of art which she proudly displayed in her home. Her kind ways and love of life and laughter will be remembered and cherished by her husband George W. Bass who resides at The Fountains of Canterbury, and children William Scott Bass MD, Oklahoma City, and Linda Kleinsasser, Bellevue, WA. Her grand children are Ron Bass, Highlands Ranch, CO, Brian Bass, Dallas, TX, and Melinda Burnett, Livermore, CA. Her brother, Robert M. Scott Jr. and sister Betty Jane Scott predeceased her. A memorial service Will be held in the chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Monday, June 17 at 2 P.M.
