Lester ?Les? Bass Jr.
Lester "Les" Lee Bass Jr., 70, of Lexington, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015.
Our dad's wish was to be cremated and returned to Utah. He did not want a service to be held, but rather everyone celebrate his life in a way you choose. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Triad Cremation Society.
Les was born in Roanoke Rapids on Feb. 20, 1945. He attended West Davidson High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Gardner-Webb University. Les retired as a detective from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Les is survived by his children, William Guy (Sarah) Bass, Sharon (Greg) Hoff and Andrea (Scott) Shanks; six grandchildren, Brittney (Daniel Poindexter) Shanks, Victoria Shanks, Ryan Bass, Rachel Bass, Samuel Hoff and Ethan Hoff; sister Cheryl (Tony) Shoaf; and many nieces and nephews.
Les was preceded in death by Lester Lee and Nina Stokes Bass (parents) and Nadine and Frank Turowski (sister and brother-in-law).
The family of Lester L. Bass Jr. wishes to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses of the CCU of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A special thank you goes to Ashlie and Dr. Blair Brown for the compassion and care they showed our Dad.
