Wedding
O’Callaghan-Bassett
At St. Thomas’ Church, Narandera, on the afternoon of Saturday, 12th September, the marriage was celebrated of Rose Amelia, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Bassett, of Gillenbah, Narandera, and Richard Edward O’Callaghan, eldest son of Mr. E. O’Callaghan and the late Mrs. O’Callaghan, of Narandera.
Given away by her brother, Mr. Thomas Bassett, the bride wore a very pretty blue frock, with white accessories. She carried a sheaf of lilies and sweet peas.
Mrs. Harold Ashcroft, a cousin of the bride, attended as matron of honor, wearing navy blue, relieved with white Her bouquet consisted of sweet peas and fern.
Mr. Alf Bassett was best man.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Bassett, wearing a black frock, to which she pinned a shoulder spray of sweet peas, received the guests. The usual toasts were honoured, and the bride cut a delicious wedding cake, which was made by her mother.
Mr. and Mrs. O’Callaghan visited Sydney for their honeymoon and on their return will make their home in the Griffith district.
