Lydia Jean Bassett
Lydia Jean Bassett, 70, died Tuesday at her Hemet home. Born in St. Louis, Mo., she lived in Hemet 38 years. She owned Bassett & Associates Realtors in Hemet since 1987. She was formerly a real estate broker for General Real Estate in Perris, Hemet Realty, and Brubaker and Culton in Hemet. She was a member of the Hemet-San Jacinto Association of Realtors for 30 years and sat on various committees in the association. Mrs. Bassett is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Michelle Bassett and Deborah Raymond, both of Hemet; and three grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Hemet. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Hemet Valley Mortuary. There will be a eulogy at 5:30 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Memorial contributions: American Cancer Society or Visiting Nurses Association of Inland Counties.
