Gerald Stone
FAIRBORN ? USAF Sgt. Gerald Michael "Jerry" Stone, age 73 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday March 7, 2018. He was born August 15, 1944 in Martinsville, VA, the son of the late Owen and Alice Frances (Joyce) Stone. Jerry served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force, and followed with employment at General Motors. He was a member of the Martinsville Christian Church, enjoyed reading about history, and was an archaeology enthusiast. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Zachary T. Stone and Bettie Mae (Bassett) Stone; father and mother-in-law, Ewell and Nancy (Byrd) Low. Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharion; a beloved son, Michael G. Stone of Fairborn; a brother, Wayne Durham Stone of Elizabethton, TN; a special brother-in-law, Keith (Connie) Low of Ajo, AZ; special extended family, Janice (Ronald) Hurt, Nina (Jim) Beverly, Thomas Beverly; and special longtime family friend, Hazel Irene Ayers. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.BeltonStroup.com.
