Frances Bass
Frances M. Bass, 90, of Keosauqua died Friday, May 17, 2013, at her home.
Born March 16, 1923, in rural Utica in LaSalle County, Ill., she was the daughter of Gerald and Marie Stoutt Murray. On June 29, 1946, she married Dale M. Bass in Chicago. He died Jan. 20, 1969.
Mrs. Bass had worked as a secretary at First Methodist Church in Harvey, Ill. She grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Hyde Park High School in Hazel Crest, Ill. She and her husband lived in the Chicago area until he became a Methodist minister and they served churches in Oakville, Bayard and Keosauqua. She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include one cousin, Gladys Locati of LaSalle, Ill.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Bass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with Larry Shipley officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.
Memorials have been established for Keosauqua United Methodist Church and Fellows Cemetery and may be mailed to the family at P.O. Box 113, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.
