Brett Taylor Bassett, 25, passed away on November 18, 2017 in Perry, FL. Brett was born May 22, 1992 in Tallahassee, Florida to Jim Bassett and Suzanne McClellan Bassett.
Brett was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Perry. Brett worked with the Taylor County School System as a Teacher/Coach. He was a member of the Perry Golf and Country Club, an avid sports fan for FSU and Taylor County. He served as a football coach for the High School and also coached the Middle School Baseball and Football Teams. He was also a member of the Seminole Booster Club. He was a graduate of Taylor County High in 2010 and graduated from St. Leo University in 2016 with a Criminology Degree.
Brett is survived by; his parents Jim and Suzanne Bassett of Perry, FL, his brother, Jake Bassett and niece Annaleigh Bassett of Perry, FL and his sister, Allison Bassett of Jacksonville Beach, FL, his paternal grandfather, Jake Bassett and maternal grandfather, Herschel McClellan both of Perry, FL, as a well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dorsett Football Field with Pastor Larry Neal and Steve McHargue officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the stadium In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Taylor County Touchdown Club, P.O. Box 1349, Perry, FL 32348. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
