Charles Eugene Bass
Charles Eugene "Gene" Bass, 85, of La Plata, Md., formerly of Kimberly, died on July 16, 2014 at his residence.
He was the son of the late William Elmer and Marvel Frances Stone Bass. He also was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Burnside and Phyllis June Settle, and brothers, Billy Lee, Bobby, Kenny W. and James S. Bass.
Gene was a graduate of Ben Franklin University with a master's degree in accounting.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1952-1954.
He was an accountant with the District of Columbia government for 26 years.
Gene loved the Lord, his churches, and his family, as well as growing his flowers and vegetables.
Surviving: his wife of 65 years, Donna J. Bass; and his brother, Troy O'Dare Bass of Montgomery.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
