RHEO W. BASSETT
RHEO W. BASSETT, 88, died Thursday at Betz Nursing Home, Auburn. Born in DeKalb County, he retired in 1978 after 43 years as owner and operator of Bassett Motor Sales. Surviving are his wife, Maurine; three daughters, Carolyn Diederich and Gloria Glick, both of Auburn, and Jeanne Bassett of Granger; a brother, Loyd of Auburn; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Monday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Auburn.

Rheo W. Bassett, 88, of Auburn, a member of Loyal Order of the Moose, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Betz Nursing Home. The DeKalb County native was owner/operator of Bassett Motor Sales and attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Surviving his wife, Maurine; daughters Carolyn Diederich and Gloria Glick, both of Auburn, and Jeanne Bassett of Granger; a brother, Lloyd of Auburn; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials are to the church. Maurine Bassett
MAURINE BASSETT, 83, died Sunday at Betz Nursing home, Auburn. Born in Auburn, she retired in 1978 as co-owner and co-operator of Bassett Motor Sales after more than 40 years. Her husband, Rheo W., died earlier this year. Surviving are three daughters, Carlyn Diederich and Gloria Glick, both of Auburn and Jeanne Bassett of Granger; a brother, Robert Smith of Auburn; four sisters, Joan Bowman of Auburn, Audrey Smith and Betty Douglas, both of Fort Wayne, and Barbara Deetz of Fremont; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Auburn. Calling an hour before services at the church. Calling also from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials to the church.
