  Notes	Find-A-Grave Obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, June 20, 1963 Mrs. William (Betty Jane) Bass, 42, of Carrollton died Friday in Canton Timken Mercy Hospital after suffering a heart seizure. She was born July 14, 1920, in Carrollton, a daughter of Mrs. Florence Mettler of 256 East Main Street, Carrollton and the late Jason "Jake" Mettler. Mrs. Bass was assistant secretary of the Carrollton Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ on East Main Street. Surviving are her husband, William Bass; her mother, Mrs. Florence Mettler, and a foster brother, James Reed, all of Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Wilda, and a brother, Jakey. Services were Monday at the Sweeney Funeral Home here with Reverend Lawrence T. Holmer officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Carrollton.
