Artie Warstler, 1896-1961, married Gladys Carper, born 1898 to George and Sarah Jane (Morr) Carper. She now makes here home with her daughter, Mrs. James Bice, of Auburn. Glayds worked for Souder Hospital and Glen Oak Nursing Home until she retired.
The family loved music and taught their children to play and sing for which talent brought them many awards.
Eight children were born to Artie and Gladys; June, married Lloyd Bassett; Ruth M. married Herman Collins; Wayne E. married Joan (Rimmel) Buchanan; Blaine H. married Vereda Reinig; Sonny, died 1929; Donald L. married Delores Ross; Elaine, married James Bice and Wesley D. married Sharon Stark.

Lloyd W. Bassett
Lloyd W. Bassett, 87, died Wednesday in Wesley. Born in DeKalb County, he retired in 1973 after 31 years as a machinist at Borg-Warner, now Auburn Gear. Surviving are his wife, June E.; son, Ronald D. of Lafayette; three daughters, Sandra Smith of Melbourne, Fla., Karen Newton of Newburgh and Connie Starkey of Auburn; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister; five brothers and a granddaughter. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Calling 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials to the transportation fund at the Heimach Center or to the First United Methodist Church.

Lloyd W. Bassett Auburn - 1913-2001
Lloyd W. Bassett, 87, of Auburn, who worked for 31 years as a machinist at Borg-Warner, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Wesley Manor Health Care, Auburn. The DeKalb County native retired in 1973. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Auburn. Surviving are his wife, June E., a son, Ronald D. of Lafayette; daughters, Sandra Smith of Melbourne, Fla., Karen Newton of Newburgh and Connie Starkey of Auburn; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A sister, five brothers and a granddaughter preceded him in death. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
