Dale Bass

The Early Years
Dale was born on April 14, 1960, in Decatur, Illinois, to Bertrand and Evelyn Bass. At an early age, he proved to be outgoing, cheerful, and one who quickly made friends. Dale and his sibling regularly attended church at St. Peters, where they participated in church youth activities. Dale attended school at MacArthur High School until he joined the United States Army, where he served four years and was stationed at Ft. Campbell in Clarksville, TN, as well as Fort Wainwright in Anchorage, AK.
Love and Family
After leaving the military, Dale met and married Mona in Anchorage, AK where they were together for a few years before the marriage ended. After moving back to Decatur, Dale met and fell in love with Selinda Ross. Out of their love for each other came their beautiful daughter, Kanika Bass. They shared their lives for 27 years.
Work
Dale worked at Mueller Company for 28 years, where he was a member of USW-7-8388. Dale was loved by many who worked with him and was always available if the union needed him. While employed at Mueller Company, Dale made lifelong friends that filled his life with joy. He was committed to his work and enjoyed being a part of the Mueller Company family.
Recreation
Dale spent his life as a dedicated father, brother and friend. He enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with his daughter, Kanika whom he was very proud of. He also cared deeply about his brother with him he?d spend hours with on the phone.. He would also travel to Clarksville, TN, to his nephew's home for the holidays so he could spend time with them laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying music. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He looked forward to taking long rides with friends whenever he could. He took great pride in his Harleys, and his bikes brought tremendous pleasure.
Dale was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Kanika Bass, and her mother, Selinda Ross; his brother, Steven Lee Bass, and his wife, Pamela; his nephews, Steven Alexander and Harrison Lee Bass; his cousins, Pauli Carman, Paula Clark and a host of friends and relatives. The family would like those who offered prayers and support during Dale's illness to know they greatly appreciated it. A special thank you to Jim Billingsley, Lowdois Dozier, Kerry McCrory and Jimmie Logan for their time, effort, and travel to support Dale and his family during his illness.
