James Ernest ?Chief? Lambert

James Ernest "Chief " Lambert, 73, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 in Shands at UF, Gainesville, Fla. following a long illness. Mr. Lambert was born Nov. 24, 1937 in Cherokee, N.C. and has resided in the Branford area for the past 50 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with 32 years of services with Hatch Enterprise Mining of Branford, Fla. He was a member and pastor for eight years at Walker Creek Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Treessie Lambert of Branford; his mother, Nellie Lambert of Cherokee, NC.; three sons, Mitchel Lambert & Annette of Hatch Bend,Fla., DeWayne Lambert & Licinda of Branford, and Jim Lambert of Branford; five stepdaughters, Karen Pacucci of Jacksonville, Fla., Sharon Hygema of Jacksonville, Judy West of Branford, Misty Stephens of Branford, Christy Smithy of Live Oak, Fla.; one stepson, Kevin "Sport" Stephens of Vero Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Webb Lambert of Branford, Donald Lambert of Cherokee, NC., and Dean Lambert of Charlotte, NC.; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Walker Creek ? Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Greg Vickers, Rev. Bob Moore and Mr. John Terry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. of Branford in charge of all arrangements.
