Kermit E. "Sam" Bass, 67, of Dry Branch, Kanawha County, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness. He was a retired computer science analyst from the Marine Corps with 25 years of service and was a former employee of the state Treasurer, Charleston.
Surviving: wife, Ruth Marshall Bass; daughter, Kermelia "Kim" Nesselrodt of Dry Branch; brothers, Jack of Norfolk, Virginia, Norman of Lebanon, Virginia, Jerry of Davidson, Michigan, Dennis of Greenup, Kentucky, John of Baltimore, Maryland; granddaughters, Jennifer Nesselrodt of Dry Branch, Tressia Cabell of Standard; one great-granddaughter. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with the Reverend Phillip Priddy officiating. Burial will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, with military rites by Marine Corps Company A, 4th Engineer Battalion of the 4th Marine Division. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
