Larry Gene Bassett, Sr, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Larry was born on November 1, 1946, in Welch, Oklahoma, to Thomas Grover Bassett, Jr. and Helen Christina (Adkison) Bassett. After graduating from Afton High School, Larry served in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. After coming home Larry worked for BF Goodrich for 13 years, until it closed in 1986. He then went to work at Eastern State Hospital for over 28 years until his retirement. .
Larry was preceded in death by his twin brother Garry Dean Bassett, one son Larry Gene Bassett Jr. his parents and his grandparents.
He is survived by one daughter, Tina Quick and husband of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons, Derek Bassett and wife of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Jeffrey Bassett of Afton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Thomas L Bassett and wife of Afton, Oklahoma and Richard A Bassett of Grove, Oklahoma; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton, Oklahoma. Pastor Brian Gibson will officiate. A visitation for friends and family will be held directly before the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 p.m.
