Margaret Bass, 80 Succumbs
Mrs. Margaret H. Bass, 80, resident of 222 North Hoosier Street, died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay County Hospital. She had bee in failing health for the past year.
Born Aug. 1888, in Carbon, she was the daughter of Elias and Mary Elizabeth (Blanchard) Mann.
Mrs. Bass had spent all her life in this community and was married Dec. 25, 1907, to Charles Bass who preceded her in death.
The deceased enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Celia) Rush, Plainfield, and Mrs. Leslie (Viola) Shaw, of Columbus, O., on e son, William Bass, of Brazil, three sisters, Mrs. Alice Byers, Pomoma, Fla., Mrs. Emily Adams of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Frances Jardine of Westville, Ind.; two brothers, Joseph Mann, Terre Haute, and William Mann, Brazil; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Moore Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Summit Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
