Dr. Robert D. Bass
1935 - 2016
Dr. Robert Davis Bass, 80, passed away in Pensacola, FL on May 30, 2016. Dr. Bass was a chiropractor in Pensacola. He was a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association and was an avid golfer and past president of Men's Golf Association at Carriage Hills. He also served in the United States Army, Co "A" Sig BN in Hawaii.
Dr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Smith and Irene Elizabeth Hughes Bass and his aunt, Martha Dampier. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Leslie Joan Phillips Bass; daughter, Elizabeth Cooley; son, Robert D. Bass, Jr., daughter; Melissa (Don) Wilson; step-daughter, Toni (John) Coberly; step-son, Jim (Becky) Hanson; step-daughter, Nicole (Steve) Lorentson; 4 brothers, Hugh L. (Yvonne) Bass, Joseph E. (Anita) Bass, James N. (Tanya) Bass, William G. Bass; sister, Carol A. McGaha; uncle, Sam Bass; cousin, Sara Jane Mitchell, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery. The United States Army will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant Hospice or to the American Lung Association. Our thanks to the caring staff of Sacred Heart Hospital, Covenant Hospice and to his amazing doctors.
The family has entrusted Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with all arrangements.
