Jay Michael Bassett (Includes picture)
Jay Michael Bassett, 51, of Springfield, MO, passed away, April 28, 2014. Jay was born October 13, 1962 in Flora, IL. He was a 1980 graduate of Flora High School. Jay loved to play the piano, he was very active at Westside Christian Church, where he was able to use his musical talents as a worship leader.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Shipley; maternal and paternal grandparents; an infant brother, Michael; and a niece, Jessika Klein- Billingsley.
He is survived by his two children, Jayson Bassett of Springfield MO and Jena Bassett of Springfield, MO; his parents, Iven (Bud) and Nancy Bassett of Clay City, IL; two sisters, Debbie and husband Bill Klein of Flora IL and Kimberly and husband Bryan Bullard of Rinard, IL; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Jay?s life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. in the funeral home.
