There will be no services. The body will be cremated. Mr. Bassett was born May 26, 1947, in Richland County, the son of Mike and Mable (Burgin) Bassett. He was employed at Home Depot in Boyton Beach, Fla. Mr. Bassett is survived by daughter, Kelly Abell and husband Bryan, of Maryville, Tenn.; son, David Michael and wife Jeanne, of O'Fallon; seven grandchildren, Bridgette, Madison, Emily and Olivia Abell, of Maryville, and Jackson, Chase and Michelle Bassett, of O'Fallon; a great-granddaughter, Ava, of O'Fallon; a brother, Iven (Bud) Bassett and wife Nancy, of Clay City; sister, Ruth Lynn, of Clay City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Hospice.
