Billy Joe Bass
Bass, Billy Joe - a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mountain View Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Anthony Counts, Dr. Tim Thompson, & Reverend Billy Rinehart officiating. Burial will be at Cain's Chapel Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Bass is preceded in death by his parents, George Adolphus Bass & Nora Agnes Bass; first wife, Mary Gail Whitaker Bass; sister, Mary Nell Bass; infant son; and brother, George E. D. Bass. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bass; daughter, Kelly B. (Billy) Elliott; Scott (Shannon) Bass; grandchildren, Caitlin (Brandon) Wright; Bronson, Brooks, & Brady Bass; great-grandchild, Callie Wright; step-children, Dr. Danny Robinson; Jan (Ricky) Hollon; Ginger (Junior) Teffeteller; step-grandchildren, Bill, Greg, David, & Ann Robinson, Erin Pettus, Carmen Sullivan, Kristen Hancock, Dr. Matt Ramsey, and Lieutenant Scott Ramsey; step-great-grandchildren, Cooper & Cameron Hancock, Garrett and Hollon Pettus; several nieces & nephews. Active pallbearers will be Bronson Bass, Brooks Bass, John Gallups, Evan Adams, Mark Hollingsworth, & Lyndon Pouncey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Class of 1950 from Holtville High School & the Senior Mens Sunday School Class at Mountain View Baptist Church. Mr. Bass will lie in state one hour prior to service time at Mountain View Baptist Church.
