- 3B3231. John Bassett, son of Samuel and Susannah (Morris) Bassett, was born in Jun 1748 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He married Susannah Bristol, daughter of Hiel and Elizabeth (Hine) Bristol, of Milford, on 25 Aug 1799. He was a shoemaker and a farmer. Elizabeth Hine was the dauther of Samuel and Elizabeth (Oviatt) Hine. Susannah was born 1 Nov 1778 in Milford, Connecticut.
One source lists him located in Delaware "Appoqunith Hundred" and his will is dated 4 Jan 1790 in New Castle. This source also lists children as Thomas, James, Elias, John, Betsey and Susan.
MARR.: This is probably not the John that married Susannah Bristol on 25 Aug 1799. This marriage takes place after the probate of John's will on 4 Jan 1790. There are possibly two families mixed together.
