Glenn J. Bass
Raleigh - Glenn J. Bass, 44, of 41089 Lake Lynn Drive, Apartment 105 died Friday at Rex Hospital. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Mount Nelson Baptist Church in Eureka, with the Reverend Pete Bass, the Reverend Tim McFatter and the Reverend Clyde Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery. Mr. Bass was born in Wayne County to Shirley Matthews Causway and the late Ray Bass. He was employed with Smith & Hawken in Raleigh where he worked as an assistant manager. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Shirley Matthews Causway, and her husband, Lee Causway of Wilson; a sister, Sherrie Bass Mooring, and her husband, Michael K. Mooring, of Eureka; a niece, Bridgett Mooring of Eureka; and a nephew, Tyler Mooring of Eureka. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four grandparents: Alford Matthews and his wife, Mildred Howell Matthews, of Wilson; and Charlie Bass and his wife, Ava Lane Bass, of Eureka. The family received friends Sunday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Freemont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Center of North Carolina in care of Triangle Community Foundation at 4813 Emperor Boulevard, Cambridge Hall, Suite 130, Durham, North Carolina 27703.
