He received the Efficiency Award from International Shoe Company and the Southern Gospel Music Appreciation Award in 2006 the first award ever given out by Bob Dudley. He was a Charter member of the Grace Baptist Church in Union. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Ora Bass; his wife Barbara Bass; three brothers, Charles Bass, Bill Bass and Robert Bass and one sister, Imojean Bass.
