Kathleen Tyler Nitschke
Kathleen Tyler Nitschke was born in Austin, TX December 3, 1927 and passed away July 27, 2023.
After 64 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bassett Nitschke and her parents, Jane McCrosky Tyler and Roger Barton Tyler as well as two sisters, three brothers, and son-in-law, Tom Mraz.
Kathleen is survived by three daughters, Mary Kay Mraz, Beth Stevener and husband, Mike, and Lucy Biggs and husband, Karl.
Kathleen graduated from Austin High School in 1945 and then went on to attend the University of Texas where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1950. She married her husband, Jim on November 20, 1948.
She taught at Austin Public Schools for a short time and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Wednesday Morning Music Club, Symphony League, Junior League of Austin, and Settlement Club. Kathleen also attended St. David's Episcopal Church.
Most who knew her called her Kathleen, but those closest to her knew her as "Aunt Katty" or "Gram." She will be missed dearly by all.
