Charles D. “Charlie” Richard
Charles D. “Charlie” Richard, 86, life resident of Clayton, died September 21, 2012. "Charlie" was born May 9, 1926 to Bryan and Olga (McMorris) Richard. He married Marguerite "Maggie" (Cain) Bassett who preceded him in death November 22, 2010.
"Charlie" was a commercial truck driver for Skinner Motor Express in Indianapolis for 20 years. He also was a driver for Speedway Auto Parts for 10 years. He owned C.M. Cycle Shop in Clayton from 1986 until he retired in 2006. He attended the Hazelwood Christian Church and the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church at Hall, Indiana.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25 in Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Clayton with visitation there 4 - 8 p.m. Monday September 24. Burial - Clayton Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Patricia (William) Gilbert - Rosedale, Indiana, Rick Richard - Westminster, Maryland, Phyllis Bucklew - Terre Haute, step-children, Mike (Pam) Bassett, Stan (Jan) Bassett, Frank (Marcella) Bassett, Jr., all of Plainfield, Marcia (Paul) Lowe - Hazelwood, Sandy (Jim) Simons - Mt. Airy, Maryland, Vicki (Jay) Allgood - Waveland, and Pam Custis - Clayton. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister, Marie Bennett - Indianapolis, also survive.
