Theodore C. Bassett
PITTSFIELD – Theodore C. Bassett, 87, of 63 Orchard St., died Sunday in Pittsfield General Hospital. A native of Burlington, Vt., he had spent most of his life in Pittsfield, had worked at General Electric Co. 23 years before retiring in 1947 and worked at the Pittsfield YMCA for 14 years before retiring in August, 1961. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. He leaves four sons, Theodore P., Arthur T. and Clement T., all of Pittsfield, and Harold R. Bassett of Dalton; two daughters, Mrs. Dominic Decicco of Great Barrington and Miss Phyllis Bassett of Pittsfield with whom he lived; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a brother, Augustus Bassett of Burlington. Funeral will be at the Devanny funeral home Tuesday morning with a solemn high mass of requiem at times to be announced. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
