Terry Gene Bassett
PRINCETON ? Terry Gene Bassett, 76, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Olney, Illinois, June 19, 1949 to Arnal and Ethel Bassett.
Terry graduated from Princeton High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, then went to work at Whirlpool in Evansville for 25 years. Terry married Marlene Meier Bassett, June 4, 1972. Terry had a classic hot rod car which he enjoyed, along with going to sock hops.
Terry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marlene Bassett; daughter, Maria Bassett; siblings-in-law, Ed Cross, Marlane and Ben Bryant, and David and Donna Meier; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two brothers.
A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 at Albright Cemetery in Mackey, with military rites conducted by the Retired Military Veterans.
