Stella LaFern Cross
Stella LaFern Cross, 84, of Princeton, IN passed away January 31, 2023 in Evansville, IN. She was born October 6, 1938 in Taylorville, IL to the late Arno and Ethel (Kellof) Bassett. Fern attended and graduated from Princeton High School in 1956. She married Edward G. Cross November 5, 1965. Fern loved animals of all kinds, she always had a dog close by to love and always watched the pet of the day on 7 news. Fern enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in the yard. She was a loving mother as well as a loving wife that will be deeply missed.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Robert Bassett and Charles Ray Bassett; daughter-in-law Gabriella Boyle; and infant grandson, Nathaniel Louis Cross.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward G. Cross; children Arno Bryon Boyle and Monte Edward (Toni) Cross; grandchildren, Chelsey Lemmon, Nicholas Cross, and Lauren Cross; great-grandchild, Silas Ledbetter; and sibling, Terry (Marlene) Bassett.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2023 at Columbia White Church Cemetery with a short viewing at the start.
